Well, for this I used the old Aurora decals from 1975 to get the Caribbean Blue that reminded of childhood when I built this. I would pass on the Atlantis decals. Plus, I think it's the best Caribbean Blue for EAL. I did however, replace all the other decals (windows, doors, EAL logo, Whisperjet titles, cockpit windows) with Vintage Flyer Decals, Authentic Airlines and other sheets. Note, I used Rustoleum Satin Lagoon for the engine cowlings - the old decals would not wrap (they never did in 1975!) - which is almost a match with the Caribbean - with buffing for shine. I used the "extra" decal from the engines for touch ups - which there were many as the sheet was so old and frail even after clear coating twice - numerous cracks and tears. For more accuracy, really work on the cockpit area with lots of sanding to make it less 'square' looking. The wings are way too thick for this scale - but, I kept them. I added detail to the ending exhaust cones, and, make sure the 2nd engine inlet is sanded to be oval - not squarish. I still need to match the registration numbers and add small blade antennas (I use pieces from coffee lids for thinness) on the top and bottom of the fuselage to complete!

The result is beautiful! And the photo with the historic sailing ship in the background is really cool. Beautiful work!
Thanks for sharing.

Very nice job, rehabilitating that old dinosaur. Jodie Peeler did a similar rebuild not too long ago, IIRC. Thanks for posting this!
