I’m at PANC @ the moment, & have been all day. About 0930 as I was waiting for a eork contact, something amazing happened.
I never saw signs of the owner or operator, but a pearl-grey 707-320C launched off of 35 @ PANC for somewhere, nearly leaving me deaf and feeling like the runway might crack. It actually hit me in the chest, like a somic body blow.
Stürm und Drang, and all that. To think how much power that north Slope kerosene turned into seismograph readings…
