Today it was announced that Shunsaku Tamiya passed away on July 18th. I can say that all of the models I’ve built over the past 15-20 years have used a Tamiya product in some form or other.

July 22, 2025 at 5:53 pm #248822Yes Tamiya model paints are pretty much ,one of my go- tos. Has Tamiya ever had an airliner kit? I don’t think so.

July 23, 2025 at 6:37 am #248826Thanks Marco for mentioning the 175. I thought they had done one airliner but didn’t see it at first glance. Imagine if Tamiya did an entire line of airliner kits.

July 23, 2025 at 7:26 am #248828May he rest in peace. Tamiya kits are probably the best on the market. Imagine a DC-10 or 747-200 in the same quality and accuracy as their F-14 or F-16 kits. One can dream…
Thanks,
ahmed
