Hi Ahmed,
How do I delete an image I have uploaded to my library? I can’t figure it out.
regards
George
AKL NZJune 3, 2022 at 6:24 pm #181779Hi George,
In the Media Library, simply click on the photo and it will bring up the details of that photo. In the bottom of the right column, you will see a red link to delete the image.
Thanks,
ahmed

AKL NZJune 3, 2022 at 8:53 pm #181789I just realised that by deleting images from the library, that would affect any threads where the images have been used? Would be cool if the library had some sort of tag or similar so you can see it’s been used in a thread post. Just an idea.

AKL NZJune 3, 2022 at 10:02 pm #181795When you click on the image it does actually show where it’s used. I’m just not sure if anyone will pay attention to it. Here’s what it looks like for an image I uploaded to the Tutorials section of the Forum:
I will look into disabling the Deletion link if an image is used anywhere.
Thanks,
ahmed
KSFOJune 3, 2022 at 10:17 pm #181798Ok thanks Ahmed. I might be doing step different to you, because here’s one of my images I know I have used in a thread, but there no ‘uploaded to’ showing compared to yours. The image below is being used in this thread: https://airlinercafe.com/forums/topic/mach-2-dc-8-50-air-new-zealand-1-72-build/page/2/
But anyhow, I will just try make sure to be careful what I delete. Sorry for the questions! Appreciate the efforts you do to maintain this site.

AKL NZJune 4, 2022 at 5:14 am #181804If you upload an image at time of post creation it will have that info. If the image has been uploaded to your Media Library prior, and then inserted later, then it won’t have that info. I still think not allowing image deletions is the safest way to go.
Thanks,
ahmed
KSFOJanuary 18, 2023 at 4:29 pm #184535Hi Ahmed. I’m still having trouble uploading photos. I tried to drag and drop a photo into a forum post I was responding to, but it said “you are not allowed to upload photos”, even though the size was under 5 mb. There was no further explanation.
What am I doing wrong?

I modified a couple of settings, please give it another try. Thanks for letting me know.

KSFOJanuary 18, 2023 at 6:22 pm #184545Ahmed: I figured it out. I had to load photos into the Cafe media library first. That seemed to work. I originally tried to drag/drop directly from my computer which didn’t work. Thanks for your quick reply.

January 18, 2023 at 6:41 pm #184546You’re welcome. Glad you figured it out.
Adding images directly should work now also.
Thanks,
ahmed
