Now I’m old, but while ago I was looking at Jon Proctors web site again after years. I was struck again by how the TWA early 707 color scheme looked so bad. At the time of introduction they decided all their planes would have the Connstellation style paint scheme. Not all TWA schemes looked bad (the 880) with the entire front nose radomes coated in a black. The 707’s looked like they had rammed a hanger wall when you first saw first saw them. Finally thru time management must have also seen their mistake as they reverted to a gray radome and small black button at the very tip of the radome that I thought made the
