From Scalemates, scheduled for 2026 release is the 100 year anniversary scheme of Lufthansa. No parts changes noted for the kit originally released by Revell in Airbus house markings in 2013. I imagine Danny Coremans will be doing the decals. Can’t wait to see this one!

I’m a bit conflicted. Lufthansa is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2026, having been founded in 1926 as Luft Hansa (the spelling at the time).
Until now, Lufthansa has always distanced itself from the period between 1933 and 1945 in its history. These 12 years “simply didn’t belong,” that was “a different Lufthansa,” and had “nothing to do” with the Lufthansa of today.
For the 100th anniversary, these 12 years are suddenly included. A bit strange. Either you stand by it or you don’t.
By the way: For eight years, there were two Lufthansas.
In East Germany, there was “Deutsche Lufthansa” from 1955 to 1963.
Back to the topic. I really like the 100th anniversary livery! I think it’s great and I’m looking forward to the model kit or aftermarket decals. It’s much nicer than the current boring Qantas or UTA-style paint schemes. It would be great if Lufthansa adopted this as standard in the future.

December 7, 2025 at 11:52 pm #250248Hi all,
I am interested in how they will do the colors.
Will there be white decals for the bird on the fuselage?
Will they avoid it and leave the modellers alone about how to do it?
Will there be masks? Which would be my favorite, but I do not except that from Revell. Hopefully the aftermarket will try that. What do you think?
Greetings
Uwe

December 8, 2025 at 2:41 am #250249Lufthansa should keep this as their standard scheme. I really like how the wings of the aircraft become the wings of the crane. I found it quite an accomplishment when LH turned a boring scheme into a even more boring and unoriginal livery. Love it or hate, but I like the step that Condor took. Are they still aligned with Lufthansa?
Let’s hope for a release of the 747-8 and A380 in the anniversary livery as well. The scheme shouldn’t be too difficult to mask. Is there perfect paint match for this blue?
And I agree with Pridebird that it is a bit hypocritical. I hope Germans may finally find a way to deal with that trauma.

December 8, 2025 at 5:02 am #250250What I read about the anniversary is: The Branding or corporate identity with the Crane is now 100 years old, not the Lufthansa himself. Maybe that is reason, that they are not make a Retro Livery (like American).
The Planes who will be painted in this Special Livery will be:
Airbus A320
Airbus A350-900
Airbus A350-1000 (not in the Fleet yet)
Airbus A380
Boeing 747-8
Boeing 787-9 (already painted)

I tried to edit the post but couldn’t find where to do it. Try this link..

Link doesn’t seem to work, but highlight the link, right click, and “Go to”. That seems to open it.

Where there's a will, there's a relative.December 8, 2025 at 7:48 pm #250266Sad to read of the pain felt even today, of how a celebration of 100 years can be argued, and hurtful. I think Lufthansa has done it right by celebrating the crane, and trying to not allow the ugly years to corrupt this achievement.
Never mind the bad years, I really like this paint scheme, and I agree, this should be the scheme on every airplane Lufthansa flies!
I don’t always say “Proceed as requested”
But when I do, it is because I have no clue what you just said. -
