Unsure if this has been mentioned on AC, but new(?) TU-134 kit from Czech maker Kovozavody.

AKL NZI thought it was a direct rebox of the AZ kit but the sprues are different, parts are arranged differently.
It could be some sort of “pirating” as KP did with the Gavia 1/72 Let L-410 Turbolet : KP used the Gavia kit to produce their kit, parts are arranged differently on the sprues and benefit from a bit more recessed details but you can clearly see the kit originated as the Gavia kit.
I smell something similar here.
Tells me one thing : to me, 1/144 Tu-134 = Zvezda.

Of course they are not 100% identical but I’m certain it will be the same case as the nice Gavia L-410 kit “borrowed” by KP.

StefanThe link to Scalemates doesn’t work for me but it’s not hard to find pictures of the KP sprues. It’s obviously not the same plastic although there are some “similarities” particularly the fin.
The Zvezda kit is good but the cockpit is inaccurate – AZ got the shape right although their kit is a bit crude compared to Zvezda. It’s hard to tell from the photos how the KP cockpit compares but if it’s pirated I won’t be spending money to find out.

Thanks Stefan for the links. I see what you mean about the differences in the sprues. The decal sheet looks ok too.

AKL NZAs far as I know, the owner of Kovozavody (KP) is the same (Petr Muzikant) as the AZ model. So it’s definitely not piracy.
The KP mouldings are based on the AZ model mouldings, but they should be modified and improved.
