Happy New Year! Grateful for many things, including having this space to collaborate and share our work and not having to be on Facebook! What’s everyone working on? I’ve got a Zvezda 777-200 conversion and a 737-800 in progress. Same airline, both will be retro schemes but not the same one!
I like staying focused on one thing but hate cleaning my airbrush so I’m hoping to get multiple parts painted at the same time. Also loving the size comparison. We always talk about the 777 engines being the size of a 737 fuselage but I’m tickled that the mlg is taller than the fuse!
Be well this new year and all of them! 🙂

January 3, 2026 at 4:20 pm #250472The A350 project moves ahead.
Nacelles primed with leading edge and part of pylon masked with Baremetal foil. Fuselage being checked with a few re-scribes to go before paint, and the wings also primed with a few little blemishes and errant scribing issues to fix. Sorry for the distraction of the background slop.

January 3, 2026 at 7:58 pm #250482That Neptune is GORGEOUS! For just the third day of the new year I’m definitely still at the “what do I work on next?” stage. Finish something half started? The L500 that didn’t get finished for Airliners last year, The vac MD-87 in hybrid Reno Air/American colors, ANA 744 in Marine Jumbo colors? For starting something new maybe another mini L500 in Flying Tigers colors. Looking ahead to Airliners in June it would be a good excuse to do one or more Western Pacific planes. I’ll get something done for the show but just don’t know what just yet.

Thanks so much.
I have a Roden Convair 340 in the pipeline that’ll be a C-131A Samaritan.

Love the look of that fuselage! What did you use for the white paint?
I just finished polishing the Tamiya FSP on my A340 build, and will start going the gray on the belly, engines, and other underside parts next.

January 5, 2026 at 3:42 pm #250501My main current projects are a Revell A340-300 with BraZ replacement nose and Druz engines and an Authentic Airliners Caravelle 10R.
The A340 has just emerged from the paint shop and the Caravelle will get its first coat of primer when it’s warm enough for me to work in the garage.
Planned liveries are Emirates for the A340 and LTU red top for the Caravelle.

January 6, 2026 at 1:22 pm #250510Happy New Year! I’m stuck in “can’t decide” right now. Got a couple I’d like to get done. EL AL 787-9 with Zvezda kit, Egypt Air 777-200 with an old Minicraft kit, or a Pioneer Airlines with a 1/72 Italeri DC-3. My dad was a kid when he got to ride on one of these from Dallas over to Mineral Wells, TX. Couldn’t remember the year though.

Do you have pictures of those builds? I’m curious to see how the 340 especially has gone, I’ll be getting close to decals on mine soon.

Thanks, I might need to give that a try if my current experiment fails.

January 13, 2026 at 9:13 pm #250597So, as usual, I am working on too many things at once, some of which were parked for a while.
My 747-8 Lufthansa retro (1/144 Zvezda) is finally moving forward. LACI flaps are attached, as are Metallic Details, and it has received the first coat of Boeing grey. I have completely finished (assembled, weathered and decaled) the engines just the other day. these are just waiting for the rest of the aircraft to be completed for them to be attached.
My Delta A220 (1/144 Eastern) has received its first coat of white, but I’m not happy with it yet. Unfortunately, I had a problem with my compressor and am now waiting for a spare part before I can finish and move on to the blue.
I picked up a Revell 1/144 A350 just a couple of weeks ago, after noticing that it has decals for the exact Lufthansa aircraft I traveled on two summers ago MUC-SEA, so I launched right into building it. I’ve finished the cockpit (with CRM pilots) and assembled the main subsections (wings and fuselage – they are just test fit for the pic). The engine intakes and exhausts have been painted and Metallic Details have been added. This one now likewise awaits the compressor repair so I can move on to painting.
At some point I might share some pics of my magnum opus in progress that’s kind of the holdup of everything else – a complete revamp of the Dragon 1/144 747-400 with interior.
