Getting Ready for the Site Move

Hi everyone,

I know you’ve all been anxiously waiting for the new site, myself included. The only piece that is left to finish is the Kit and Decal database, which is taking a lot longer than expected. So, instead of waiting longer, I’ve decided to move the site and add that piece at a later date. The most important, and most used feature of the site is the Forums and those are ready to go, and have been ready for a while. It will bring with the the highly anticipated feature of being able to easily insert photos into forum posts.

I’m anticipating we can do the move in the next couple of weeks, but there’s a couple things you have to do beforehand to ensure that your account is transferred properly and can be retrieved by you without any loss of data. So, in the next week or so, please do the following:

1) Make sure that the email account in your Profile is correct and active

2) Edit your Profile and add your real name to the top. It will be important in the new Forums.

3) Download any photos in your Personal File Space (My files), that you have marked as private and are not in any galleries.

4) Save/download anything you might need from Private Messages. Private messages will not be transferred over.

Please take care of the above and you will be in good shape to have a seamless transition to the new site.

Hi All,

The site move to the new version could come as early as this Sunday. In preparation for the move, I have removed permissions to upload any more photos to the Member Gallery or Photo Database. This way nothing will be left behind when everything is transferred to the new site/server.

The site may have to be completely down for a few hours. In that case, I will put up a page with more info and instructions on how to recover your account and gain access to the new site.
