Wondering if it ever available or not in 1/144 scale, minicraft or revell could release! Also Doyusha did in past a B737-200 in 1/100 JTA-Japan Transocean Air colors…, so what about a Dassault Mercure? Chances are????

As only 10 were sold, I believe, and to only one airline. I’m not sure why it didn’t do too well, it looks like an A320 with 737 engines to me.
Thanks,
ahmed

it looks like an A320 with 737 engines to me.A friend of mine did it long time ago from a B737-400 modified, that’s closer; it is very far in shape from the A320 ( fuselage and wings).
The new Mercure from F-RSIN is well done with a superb decal sheet.
I have logged around 750 hours of flight ( first officer)in the Mercure and it was very pleasant to handle.
There has been 11 examples in the Air Inter fleet, the eleventh ( F-BTMD) was the prototype lenghtened to serie standard, her empty weight was 1 tone more than the others.
She was a short haul plane and that is the reason why she wasn’t retained by Air France and other carriers; range wasn’t sufficient for intra european flights or others.
A Mercure-200 with CFM56 engines was studdied but it was too late, the A320 was coming.

March 22, 2009 at 10:22 pm #117954The profile from Heilig is pure “flight of fancy”, Air Inter never used the B737 in their colors.
There have been studies about the plane that never concluded, and for the 100 seat plane the Fokker 100 was choosed.

March 23, 2009 at 1:39 am #117955Thanks for the info Gerard. I thought only 10 were built, so 11 total. Yes, if it had a little more range, I think it would’ve been a good competitor to the 737 and DC-9, at least in the European market.
Thanks,
ahmed
KSFOMarch 23, 2009 at 3:07 am #117958So more length and pax than a 737-200, range about 1,700km, inside western Europe like FRA-LIS, LHR-BCN, mostly flights have tops 2 hours and a half…here’s about the Dassault Mercure:

Its sad it isn’t gone farther…The A32O looks like came from Dassault Mercure to me !

ABS Jets OK-GGG Czech Legacy600 EMB135BJ walkaroundOctober 4, 2009 at 6:15 am #120488I have been off the site for quite some time and after just coming back, I am going through a lot of the old threads to see what I have been missing. In regards to the Mercure, I know for sure that there was one kit put out in the mid to late seventies or there abouts but I am not sure of scale or manufacturer – may have been Airfix or Frog. THey were a nice aircraft. I flew in one from Paris to Toulouse in the early 1980’s and was most impressed with the comfort, low noise level and smoothness.

Fernando CastañónOctober 5, 2009 at 5:03 am #120500I have a Plasticart kit, I think it is 1/100 scale, and very basic. I keep debating with myself if I will ever build it. I bought it eons ago at the Airliner show at LAX and it has sat in the box since.

October 5, 2009 at 5:29 am #120501Wow, it sure was a neat looking bird for sure. I built one when I was a kid, and remember it well. Too bad they did not make it!

October 11, 2009 at 3:11 am #120590The reason no Dassault Mercures were exported was because it lacked the range to leave France…
