Hello! Yesterday I decided to pop open a Hasegawa 1/200 767-200 Demonstrator kit I’ve had in the stash for a bit. Everything is going together very nicely. It has the new tool fuselage and original tool wings and engines, P&W. I’ve sanded down the panel lines on the wings and engines and used only a minor amount of black CA glue as filler on the fuselage seam. So far, a very enjoyable kit.
A few questions for you all, I haven’t delved into this stuff yet, are the little vents or whatever they are on either side of the APU for the KC-46 version of the kit? I assume they should be removed for an airline version?
Whilst the Demonstrator is a fine livery and the decals look very nice, what are some other appropriate airline and livery options for the Pratt & Whitney engines? I’m not very good yet at identifying the differences between those and the GE, which, seem to be most of them and the P&W were mostly on the early ones? Or something like that?
Anyway, I usually do 1/144 kits, but just a few hours on this and I’m ready to hunt down the whole 1/200 Hasegawa catalog haha. Thanks!!

The engines in the kit are Hasegawa’s version of the P&W engines; not really accurate, but different from the GE engines in most of their 767 kits. The only other kit I’ve personally seen these in is the old JAL 767-200 kit. Braz models made some P&W replacements, but I don’t know if they are still available.
Off the top of my head, I can say that JAL, United, and Ethiopian used P&W engines on their 767-200s.
Hope this helps.

January 24, 2026 at 11:40 am #250705The updated 767-200 kit is superb. No windows and recessed panel lines is a huge bonus not seen on the majority of Hasegawa airliners from the first generation releases.
Built mine in Ethiopian colors using PW’s. Didn’t remove the KC767 parts, oops, lol.

This shows the difference between the original P&W and GE engines on the 767-200.
