Wasn’t it a damn long waiting?
Design is finished, tool going into production. We expect the -100 kit to be released in late summer/early autumn, as usual in a standard and PRO edition.
We really spent a lot of time in research and design improvements in order to make the best 727-100 kit.
We listened to you and made so many changes that we decided to create a complete new tooling for the 727-100.
The kit will come to you with screen printed decals (including windows for the Combi version, in accordance with the optional 2nd window stripe), masks, detailed and improved instructions, PE parts and a beautiful & stable boxing.
Before you can see the first screenshots, have a look what we changed for a smoother modelling experience:
Kit design revision list
– All Fit issues removed
– LH window stripe now single piece
– LH window stripe 2nd option included for Combo version
– Step transition lower wing+upper wing half improved
– New wing root landing light design for easier assembly
– New lower wing+WBF design, panel lines for body gear doors added
– Gap upper wing->fuselage eliminated with new design
– Wing trailing edge details added
– Alignment of wing main gear doors now straight and on axis
– Slot added for placement of wing fence
– Flap track panel lines added
– Panel line cabin door flap upper side addedWell,…and for those who think the only different thing apart from the length is the center engine inlet… there is a bit more…check this:
727-100 design difference list
– oval center engine inlet
– pack outlet alignment and design
– early tail skid
– smaller main wheels
– early gear stiffener plate design
– 2 antennas for military version
– different cargo door designThe screenshots are without panel lines (the kits of course has them). We hope, it is what you were looking for…
Best regards

May 10, 2025 at 3:38 pm #248173Sini..are you considering any modifications/updates to the 727-200 kit? I’m working on one now and I must say it is a gem! Just a couple of small areas could do with improvement. But overall, it is eons ahead of any 727 kit that was ever on the market. Toll getant!

Hi Alan,
we would do that, if the demand was higher, but as for now the old tooling still delivers many shots. If they are sold out and the need for more 727s is there, that is an option, but i dont see it to be honest, at least not in the near future. And i guess you mainly talk about fit issues etc…. regarding the shape we had no complaints. Some modifications were done by our selfs without any feedback.
We tried to learn from all mistakes and take everything down to the -100.
I finished one my self, gonna post it here very soon.
kind regards

www.cr-models.comMay 11, 2025 at 4:29 am #248177You know, on the actual plane, the upper anti-collision light and the upper VHF antenna are offset from the fuselage centerline. This was to prevent any ice accumulation from going to the center engine intake.

We know, that is why it is written in the instruction manual as a note (step 30).

May 15, 2025 at 2:28 pm #2481941) WOWW!!!
What welcome news!
2) Just as i was beginning to make progress again on my Prehistoric Revell 727 project. Good thing i have only *one* of those on my Shelf of Doom.
3) Will the kit also offer the clear tailcone option with the position light?

May 15, 2025 at 5:28 pm #248199This is awesome news! CAD drawings look spot-on!! On the difference list you mentioned “early gear stiffener plate design”. Do you mean the bulges on the inside of the innermost flaptrack fairings?
I ask because there’s also a small but noticeable bump on the outside near the leading edge of said flaptracks as shown in these pics: https://www.britmodeller.com/walkarounds/airliners/B727-200/200%2045a.jpg https://airlinercafe.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/727-100-20-walkaround-photo.jpg that are missing from your CAD drawings. Or is it a case of these being lower resolution pics and you’re working on more detailed drawings that have the bump?

regarding the bumps on the FTFs, it was decided not to model them due to their size in 1/144 scale and resulting issues with the molding (possible sinkmarks).

Fair enough, there’s only so much detail that’s practical to add in that scale! For instance, I can add such bumps myself on a build, but I’d personally draw the line with static wicks or adding every single hydraulic line on landing gear!

Will the -100 include the option for early-style clamsell type thrust reversers?

the clamshell reversers will be available only in the PRO edition and as a seperate aftermarket resin part. though i think it not too hard to modify with grill and make a clamshell out of it…

October 19, 2025 at 6:14 pm #249641I’m so excited to possibly be able to purchase from my friends in Europe, Canada, and Mexico!
Now, all I need is a paycheck. So happy to go to work, not get paid, and have the reassurance that I will get paid. So, after I get a paycheck, pay overdue, or deferred bills, get groceries, and feel better… I’ll catch up a month or so later, and be able to buy some stuff I need, some stuff I want, and become a great American consumer again! If, in the meantime this 727 kit is released, can I reserve a few pro editions with my good name and degrading credit?

Because the Pan Am 727-100 was my very first airliner kit at the age of 9. Was a Plasticart 100 scale kit of course. Was a birthday present from my dad he built. That’s why I Pan Am’s 727 is my favour at all and have a live long relationship.
Definately a classic!

Definately a classic!we have all the plastic already and the testbuild exceeded the 722, so the kit will be great, i’d say. we just have to sort some administration issues at the moment.
livery will be USAF, but for sure 26 will offer panam markings.

www.cr-models.comOctober 21, 2025 at 1:02 am #249665looking forward to this one but curious, why bother designing/printing/including USAF decals that less than 1pct of buyers will actually use? There was one C-22 and the scheme is really plain and boring.
Might as well release it without decals and pass the savings on. Am sure most of us will use aftermarket decals to our liking.

October 21, 2025 at 8:07 am #249669I’m nitpicking but I think the USAF markings are interesting. I started another thread asking for info on the C-22 planes.
Per Wikipedia it wasn’t just one C-22 but five total. LOL…… One was a C-22A and four were C-22B’s.
Picking markings for a kit must be a challenge for a manufacturer. I remember Clint Groves saying that he had the most aftermarket decals available for the Airfix 737 kit. I did a quick check/count and stopped at the AHS website after finding ~60 1/144 scale 727-100 decals.
Boeing C-22A
A single 727-30 acquired from the Federal Aviation Administration, this aircraft was originally delivered to Lufthansa. It served mostly with United States Southern Command flying from Panama City / Howard Air Force Base.
Boeing C-22B
Four 727-35 aircraft were acquired from National Airlines by the United States Air Force for transporting Air National Guard and National Guard personnel.

In general most Modellers don’t build what comes with the kit, definetely agree on that. A few considerations for you on how we as a company have to make these decisions:
1. Military vs Civil sales = 10:1
2. Licensing an Airline (high costs) or not doing so and risking legal action (depending on what airline and how you promote it on your box)
3. Size of the decal sheet.
Why we chose the USAF marking? first all of the above, the one we chose is not the boring white one, but the typical military livery. We rather provide a lot of stencils on the decal sheet for you ISO large decals for a livery only 5 people will build, so you can use your 3rd party decals and use our beautiful and accurate stencils.
At the moment we plan to release two limited releases, first the USAF and later a proper airline.
This way we provide a full kit and still can give you nice decals for a 3rd party livery of your choice while at the same time we can keep the price for the kit as it used to be.

Yes, i got your reply. The problem is, i dont have the time to answer to all requests and wishes. I am doing all customer supports alone and besides i have to go to work and besides that i have to design instructions, decals, boxings, plotting masks, renovating a house, and so on. Thats why some messages might be “filtered” and only the important ones get answered. It will get better soon but now its all a bit tight. Nevertheless nice Western 727.
regarding the news letter you get a confirmation email and you must press the better so to confirm you want to recieve the letter. thats EU law unfortunetly. It looks like there might have been an issue with your mail provider, all i can say is – in our system you are now registered. seems to have worked.
