Have a look at this simple article, it shows how the ‘missing’ yellow on the aircraft is actually a vital part of the branding. Scan over the images and you’ll hopefully understand more of how the branding works and what the designers and corporate managers are thinking. The yellow just leaps out in the products and cabin uniforms and equipment etc.

As an aircraft spotter you’ll probably be disappointed at the aircraft colour scheme but it is aimed at a specific customer base and ideology though admittedly some of it may be marketing bull***t overall I think it is a beautiful concept for the market they are aiming at and bringing the brand into the 21st century.
None of the renderings I have seen on this site or others say modernity or seem to have an understanding of branding. Some of the renderings just look like retro versions with the yellow, there is no doubting the new colours are a re-brand rather than tweaking the old and tired.
Saying all that I still can’t stand the tail of American Airlines but it does look modern and contemporary compared to the classic AA.
PS I think its hilarious and actually a little sad all these ‘campaigns’ about bringing back the old livery, as if anyone that makes these decisions cares or even notices in the slightest. It’s a strange world.

February 28, 2018 at 3:31 pm #153812Jennings,
that looks pretty awesome,
I would like the new colors with the new logo in yellow,
looks smart and premium just as Lufthansa wants it.The white Kranich does not work.
Now, how to convey that to them ) ?
Cheers,
Christian

I like the yellow disk with a blue crane better.ME TOO!!!!!! :love :love :love
As a variation with yellow doors (UTA-style)
gives an additional touch of color.
The idea is indeed stolen,
but an interesting thought…Sven

March 1, 2018 at 12:30 am #153816I agree with lichtjahre about the actual logo in yellow as represented by Jennings (thanks by the way).
Boy,aircraft paint must be severely expensive these days while they are giving away the white. Happened the same to us in LanChile (now Latam): Full tail + throw the logo in front and you’re done.
I am pretty convinced that in a future not that far away someone will come back with more color and creativity, if bold/avant-gardé enough maybe even a cheatline, and the world will be in shock and deeply surprised, again.

Thanks,

March 1, 2018 at 11:51 pm #153823I reckon it looks good, and it doesn’t need yellow for the crane. I must be the only one who likes it? yes I guess…
I remember when Air NZ went with black and white dropping the teal and blue, there was a bit of hoo-hah, but eventually people move on.
I’d be keen to see a LH A380 in the new livery.

May 6, 2019 at 9:50 pm #156094I saw a lot of the new LH birds in FRA last weekend for the first time in real live.
(I was travelling a little bit).
I was surprised about it.
The darker blue. The fine lined logo.
It really looks modern and clean.I tell you what: I thought, the older birds looked really really old fashioned.
I was surprised about that and changed my opinon: Well done LH !
