Just a question for everyone. I have purchased and used and love the AA decals from their early days. The DC-10/MD-11 cockpit was very undersized, but has been improved the last few years.
The 707/727/737 cockpit decal to my eye, and fit to kits is also too small. It is a bit frustrating to me, as I have a lot of these decals to use. Now, I am looking to replace them with newer versions from AA.
Have they been resized like the DC-10?

But when I do, it is because I have no clue what you just said.June 18, 2025 at 11:42 am #248498Yes! The “no crew” version is bigger.
I guess the smaller is the earliest version only. I my opinion even the newest could be a little bit bigger, but is good enough for me.

Keep trying!June 18, 2025 at 2:30 pm #248499I might suggest you contact Ellen Lehmann at AA directly to ask your question/make your suggestion(s). She is very good at responding. Best to get the correct info from the source.

I’m asking for real world experience from other modelers.

Not sure about the DC-10/MD-11 and Boeing narrowbodies, but I know that, according to size-error issues, Werner was so kind to resize the Boeing 747 cockpit decals to perfect fit size and also the TU-134 windows where off in size and he fixed the issue for me.
Speculating, some size issues could result from the fact that he prints these decals externally in small lots and maybe the scaling during print may be an issue. Could it be that the printing process from digital to paper is not always exactly 1:1 due to printer calibration or something? This would explain why some lots a perfect in size while others are not.
Cheers,
Christian
