Hello,
I have the Scaleliners A320 Air Tran sheet.
The sheet mentions beige for the fuselage colour.
Does anyone have any ideas for a paint match for the beige colour?
Thanks
Andy

September 20, 2025 at 9:42 pm #249393Hi Andy,
I would suggest starting with Testor’s 1117 gloss Light Ivory, and adjust as needed to match the shade of the actual decals. I believe there is a color swatch on the decal sheet.

Thank you for the suggestion, I’ll use that as a starting point to see what other paint ranges fit the colour. Yes, you’re right, there is swatch on the sheet to match and the letter ‘a’ decals for the tail which are in the colour required.
Best wishes

September 21, 2025 at 11:00 am #249397Hi Andy,
I looked at the decal sheet online and see the references you mentioned. I’m looking at a similar situation for a Muse Air MD-80. I have some Testor’s Light Brown that I may test adding a small amount of to the Light Ivory to match the photo references I have.

September 21, 2025 at 6:57 pm #249402Probably no help now, but Hannats did the exact color, I used it about a million years ago, turned out great.
I’ll add, find it somehow, or just use the suggested ideas.
I personally like for an off color white, that seems to match a lot of these colors is Tamiya Lacquer Paint, Racing White LP-39.
I don’t always say “Proceed as requested”
But when I do, it is because I have no clue what you just said.February 26, 2026 at 12:38 pm #251131Andy,
You might take your decals to a shop that sells nail polish. I did that for my Aer Lingus Airbus and found a color that is almost a perfect match for the decals. Just a thought.

How does that work in practice? Do I end up with a nail polish colour to use?
Thanks

March 6, 2026 at 12:49 am #251176On colors like this including the Muse Air fuselage color, I find that using an exact match on my models the color comes out dark looking. I generally lighten the color about 25% from the chip and apply. Visually this seems to work on the model and the model looks visually correct. With logos and stripes the exact match works well, but when the color is an off white or creamy grayish white color for the entire fuselage those seem to appear dark.
