I am interested in collecting 1/400 scale airlines & would like to know who amkes the best quality in this scale, regardless of price. I recently bought a Dragon Wings Braniff 727-200 series-the fuselage & wings are nice, but the tail is a really cheap looking piece of plastic.
I have similiar Braniff aircraft from Jet-X and Gemini jets and they seem better. What about Aero Classics? Any opinions on this are most wecome.

This question is impossible to answer simply—just like plastic kits, it varies mold-by-mold. Personally, I think Dragon’s 727 is the best by far. All other lack the “kink” at the top of the leading edge of the fin, and most have engine/alignment/nose issues.
PS–JX no longer uses Dragon’s molds.
Aeroclassics–best detail? Sure, scribing many fine lines onto the wings may be the most detailed, but is that really a plus when the overall shape is completely wrong? (talking about their 727s here).
Again–MOLD by MOLD. Dragon makes the very best and the very worst. Aeroclassics makes the very best and the very worst—and so does Gemini.
