For some, on the old site, adding photos to forum posts was like trying to figure out how to land on the moon. Luckily, it’s a lot easier here. You have several options:
1. Add photos to your Media Library first
2. Upload photos at time of writing your post
3. Link to a photo on another site (not recommended)
4. Copy and paste a photo from another site (not recommended)Options 3 and 4 are not recommended because they simply link to the image on another site and if that image is ever deleted from the other site, the photo will disappear from your post. If you go through some of the older threads you may see empty areas where there was a photo at one time. The photo may have been hosted on flickr, imgur, or wherever and has been deleted. So, this option is not recommended.
Option 1.
Before writing your post or starting a new thread, go to your Dashboard, select on Media in the left column and add the photos to your Media Library.
You can click the button to select the images:
Or click on the “Add New” button which will display an area where you can drag and drop the photos for uploading:
As you select the photos from your computer and drop the file names to the Drop area, you will see the progress of the uploads. In a few seconds all the photos will be uploaded to your Media Library. You can click on each photo and add a caption, title, etc. if you wish.Options 2:
While writing in the forum text editor, you can choose to upload a photo to be inserted into the post. Again, click on the Add Media from the top left of the text editor which will bring up the Media Library dialog box overlay. Once that opens you can select the Upload tab to select a photo from your computer to upload.Once that opens you can select the Upload tab to select a photo from your computer to upload.
This will upload a photo to your Media Library. After it’s fully uploaded, select the photo and click on the “Insert into forum” button at the bottom right of the Media Library dialog box overlay.
That’s pretty much it. After a couple of times you will be a pro.
If the image is very large, please insert the thumbnail. You can select the thumbnail from the bottom right of the Media Library dialog box overlay.

KSFOOctober 31, 2022 at 5:29 pm #183632Hi Ahmed,
I really am TRYING with the new Airlinercafe. I have uploaded a photo to my media galley and want to post it to a forum post. How do I get from the image to posting it in a forum? I’m not seeing any buttons with that option.Ken

November 1, 2022 at 12:10 pm #183636It looks like the latest push removed the Text Editor buttons. I’m looking into it.
Thanks,

KSFONovember 2, 2022 at 4:57 am #183645Ok, this is fixed now. Since the photo is already in your Media Library, from the forum post, you can click on the Add Media button and search for the photo. Click on the photo and you will see a button on the bottom right that says Insert into Post. More info above in the thread opener.
Thanks,
ahmed
