727 engines by Laci – Airlinercafe

I am building several airfix 727-200. I see the JT8D-7 by Laci Models and another set for JT8D-17 what airlines are the latter correct for? I know this was for the advanced 727-200. But the rear of that engine in the photo of the kit appears too long. Is the -17 a hush kit equipped engine?

Hi Jamie, the -17 engines are hush kitted, and I have seen photos of them on Delta and FedEx aircraft. I’m sure there are others, those two just immediately came to mind. Make sure to take note of the fact that there are specific versions for the Airfix and the Minicraft kits.

Thank you, JEAN. Then those engines won’t do because the models that I’m building which are airfix -200 are from the 1960s and early 70s. With National & Northeast Airlines. I appreciate your commenting on this. Jaime Diaz.

Hi Jamie,

The JT8D-7B do not have the hush kits and would be appropriate for your project. LACI has them for the Airfix kit, kit # LAC 144070.
