Hello all,
I recently moved cross-country and when I was unpacking my kits discovered the clear windscreen/upper cockpit part of my 1:144 Minicraft 777 had walked away.
I’d still like to build the MC (complete with Sergey’s great RR engines) but am having trouble locating nose corrections available in the proper scale. It seems there have been some in the past but these may be out of production? Not sure. I am kind of a novice when it comes to after-market stuff anyway so I might not be making an optimal search.
Grafting a Revell 767 nose is another option, but I hate to waste an entire 767 kit (and to be honest the shape of that nose also isn’t great to my eye).
Wondering if anyone has some thoughts?

I’m told the MC 777 was not the best in terms of nose shape, so Contrails did a resin correction piece. Basically chop the MC nose and graft the Contrails one on. I’m no 777 expert, but the one here looks passable:

OMG…. really. There is no redeeming qualities for that kit.
Trailing edges are square and about a foot thick in scale. Huge trenches around the engine pylons, gear doors don’t fit, etc, etc……
I did a build review years ago. After the review was done, I used the model as a test bed for paints.

Then I trashed it…..do the same.
Get the Zvezda 777 kit and build it with Sergey’s engines.

If you still plan building this kit (even though the Zvezda kit and its Revell rebox are immensely better), I can send you a complete Zvezda front section, it will be much more accurate than slapping a resin cockpit section which will not solve the too round or gradual MC front section.

StefanDon’t bother!! I’ve done this twice (twice to many). Even with contrails (which are rough parts) I still needed to sand lots in the front section as others have mentioned.
If money is a concern, fwiw I sold my unbuilt minicraft 777s on eBay for about the same price as the Zvezda kit costs new. No brainer there.
