I am looking for 1/144 727 & DC-9 Allegheny (burgundy) titles used in their last scheme before rebranding to USAir. The only one I am aware of is the old Microscale sheet 44-32. Is their any other source?
Kind regards,
Dutch

Walter,
I have AD5013 USAir DC-9-30/BAC 1-11 with no Allegheny titles. I also have AD5017 USAir 727-200, again without Allegheny titles.
The only Allegheny titles I can find are on Microscale 44-32 DC-9-50. If you do find some Burgundy Allegheny titles, I would sure love to know.
Kind regards,
Dutch

Hi Dutch,
I have the Microscale 44-32 and also Flight Path FP44-307 Allegheny DC-9-30. But for
both, the titles are more red than burgundy. Contact me on rhusberg@online.no if
you are interested 🙂
Kind regards,
Ruben

Ruben,
I thank you for the offer, but I found a MS44-32 sheet. I also have the FP44-307 sheet, but was going to use it on another kit. That, and the FP title looks really red to me, more than the ATP later four color orange/red/burgundy scheme. I am posting what I have here so that I can do the best mix’n’match to get an Allegheny 727-200 or DC-9-30/50.

I wonder how many of the decal makers use the same decal printer? And if the printers use the same inks? Or, is it all done by Pantone number? That’s what Clint Groves (RIP) explained to me years ago. So even if two different decal makers used the same printer, they might specify different Pantone numbers for the same color for a decal of the same subject. I know that Clint printed two different United Caravelle sheets, one with a light blue cheatline and one with a medium blue cheatline, but that may simply have been because United changed their color hue.
So I thank everyone for their help. In the end, I will pick the title which is closest and live with it. Isn’t that what we airliner modelers have been doing for years?
Kindest regards,
Dutch

@dutch please insert images directly into the post and not as Attachments. Those images are in your Media Library, just insert them. Attachments are for documents and diagrams. I’ve attached them to the thread opener for now, but that’s the wrong way. Thank you!
Everyone – Please take a few moments to go through all the posts, I took a long time to write, on how to use the forums and site in general. If everyone read those, they wouldn’t be asking all the time where the photos were. I wrote a page and created a few forum posts. Not sure what else to do. Thank you!
Thanks,
ahmed
KSFOAhmed, I am sorry. I did not read your tutorial, but will do so momentarily. A thousand gomenasais! K/r, Dutch
