Received my TWA L-1011 twin-stripe decal from Vintage Flyer Decals the other day. The quality is excellent. The tone of red appears to be spot on as are both the font-style of the 'TWA' on the red tail portion as well as the placement of the 'TWA' on the tail, which I have not seen a decal manufacturer get right until now.

      Well done.

Yup! I concur. Received the two I ordered and am happy with them as they represent my favorite plane for life. The TWA 1011. I may build all 13 of the TWA 1011s I flew upon while growing up if I get really crazy. Three for now though…. It was my favorite plane to fly on. I always felt safe. Always smooth and will be my favorite plane forever with no replacement favorite plane.

      Never a .com scheme.....1980's always!

Based on your comments, I ordered a set also.
I must agree, they absolutely do look amazing.
I also custom ordered some American Airlines decals for my 1/100 DC-10.
      They are also really fantastic!

I guess he hasn't received his cease & desist letter from AMR marketing yet...

Bringing it back to the topic at hand, Michael's decals are amazing and his printing process is my favorite of the non-silkscreen methods: thin decals, rich colors, fine detail. His 1:72 Wien Air Alaska set for the 737 looks for all the world like it was silkscreened. Better still, VFD decals apply to your model easily and beautifully, and settle right in. Top that with the thorough way Michael does his homework and it doesn't get much better than Vintage Flyer, especially when it's a subject you love that's finally seen the light of day.

In 1924 Wien was Alaska's first airline. In 1980 it still is.
