The HobbyTerra website is showing the box artwork for the forthcoming 1/144 DH Comet 4C by AModel.

Not yet in stock, but advertised as "coming soon".

The artwork shows an aircraft in the final Dan Air scheme worn by the Comet.

      Greetings!

The kit also includes the old yellow striped Sudan Airways markings, so there are two options.

As Skippiebg pointed out a while back, the AModel Comet kits are very accurate generally, but they are slightly underscale. I'm guessing the Comet 4C is around 1/148 to 1/150 or so instead of 1/144. Still, it is very nicely done with nice, fine panel lines and nice little sound suppressors. The pinion tanks look very nice and appear correct in detail from photos I've compared them with, although I can't vouch for their size and shape without seeing the wings assembled. I'm hoping that a few decal makers produce some properly sized (smaller than 1/144) decals for this kit, such as the original green pin striped Aztec sun dial Mexicana and the gold striped sun dial as well, and perhaps AREA and Aerolineas Argentinas too. BOAC did not operate the stretched 4C, having only the 4, but by cutting the fuselage ahead of the wing, the 4 could be done.

I have been inside as well as walked around a Comet 1X (ex RCAF which sat at Bellomy Lawson in MIA for years), Comet 4 and Comet 4C, all to my hearts content, but it was many, many years ago, and I do not claim to be any kind of expert on them and their details, but this kit appears to me to be a nice little gem, and I'll leave the nit picking to others more knowledgeable than myself on this very pretty and history making airliner.

This kit came in an order from HobbyTerra which took a total of nine days to arrive with free shipping from the time of my ordering. As usual, excellent service with no hassles and no broken or missing parts. I recommend HobbyTerra without reservation to all of you!

      Regards,
      Jeff Jarvis

Spray around ten coats of high build primer on, that'll bring it up to 1/144 😉
