Does anyone know if J-Bot is still in business? I read somewhere that Jim was ill and not doing anything with the decal business, but there are a few sets he has on the website that just can't be found anywhere else. If he's not doing them anymore, then why is the site still up? So many questions, so few answers.

I would also love to know this , as I have been waiting over a year for my order that has been payed for , but he does not reply to emails, or communicate in any shape of form, and as you say if he has wound up his business why is the web sit still running.? if any one can shed some light on the current situation on this , I would dearly like to know, don't get me wrong, if there is a real problem with his health or his personnel life, I would be the last to start ranting about the no show of my order.

I have had an outstanding (paid for but never received) order with Jimbo since September of 2012. His last email to me was February 2013 promising to ship in days. Have you seen the order? Me neither. His story at the time was that he had gone through a divorce and was battling depression. Hey, I'm sorry for the issue. But if you KNOW you have a problem that will affect your business, then do something mature about it.
We had a minor skirmish on one of the Facebook sites. He took exception to my warning folks about his business practices.

In Jim's defense, his FAQ notes that he is not taking any orders at this time. Sorry about you disappointed buyers, but sometimes people have serious personal problems in their lives.

I also send out an email in regards of two decals in particular that I have not seen by the decal makers currently on the market, they are Cubana Yak-40 and the Canadian North 737's
If anyone has the CU Yak-40 in 1/144 please let me know....

      Happy modeling!

Unfortunately I also had difficulties with J-Bot decals. After a considerable length of time (>> half a year in my case) I did receive my money back. I wish Jim well and despite the number of very interesting decal subjects, I regret I will not be quick to place another order with him.

You have to have a great deal of patience with Jim Botaitis. He suffers from deep depression. I made an order from him 8 (2007) years ago. I received it in May 2011. Feeling good about things with J-Bot and able to communicate with Jim at that time I made another orderin July 2011. I figure based on my previous order, I should receive my latest order in July 2015. Keeping my fingers crossed and don't belittle me for making a second order.

I do have a question to those who paid him after I made my order. Since he has not been accepting orders on his site since late 2011, how did you send him the money?

Personal problems or not, you can't take money from someone and not give them something for it. That's called fraud in any country anywhere. If you're not taking orders, fine. But if you get money and you don't return it, you're stealing.

When I placed my order, PayPal was the mechanism to pay for the products. I started the investigation process after persistent questions failed to get answers but held off once I heard the story of his personal life. That was a mistake on my part. Lesson learned.

Jennings get the point!! I heard from friends they get her orders after 12 month or more. I'm noticed that he makes Decals for Kits from Fantastic Plastic (Sci-fi Kits) so he is not completely out of business. I'm waiting since December 2013 for my Decals or a refund.

I see he's removed his postal address from his web site. On my final order with him, after waiting almost a year and after countless ignored email inquiries, I sent him a letter asking for either decals or a refund. I got the decals a couple of weeks later.

It's a shame he can't get his act together. He made some very good decals, for a good price.

If he can update his address on his website, etc., he can just as easily log in to PayPal and refund a payment. Unless, you guys are totally ok with waiting 12-24 months for a decal to arrive. In that case it would be perfectly acceptable. I don't know about you guys, but it's just bad business practice, in my view, to take a payment and wait almost 2 years to deliver an item.

I do not personally know Mr. Botaitus; that post on Hyperscale about his being alive and well was posted by someone else.

I just today (30 March 2015) received this email from Mr. Botaitus, in response to an inquiry I sent in October 2013:

"I am catching up on all my back orders.

Once I have done that, I will update my website.

Finally, I hope to re-activate my shopping cart. You are welcome to order at that time.

I am getting older and getting slower; lets see how well I can keep up with the orders at that time. If I can find some part-time help, maybe I wont get overwhelmed again.

      Thank you for your patience."

      Michael McMurtrey,

Thanks for quoting this message from "Jimbo"!

I sincerely hope that hell recover as he really has first-class products of some very interesting subjects of which I am fortunate to possess.
Communication and transactions have always been flawless.

I beg you all to give him a chance!

I got a similar message yesterday. Says the package was sent (doesn't specify when) and that I should be receiving it soon. Something tells me I got that message shortly after the original order was placed almost 2 1/2 years ago. Yes, I will let you (and him) know when they arrive.

      Terry,

I had completely forgotten about this thread. So, to update.
I got an email out of the blue from Jim asking about that 2 y/o
order. There were a couple of things that had gotten left out of
the original shipment. He wanted to know if I had received them.
I had..a couple of months prior. That was about 6 months ago.

All this to say that it appears Jimbo is somewhat active again.
That' or he's clearing out backorders. Have you emailed him?
