wooow Stéphane!!! I'll be glad to help you out on bringing down this stack!

Due to room shortage on my storage area, i'm currently getting rid of - actually, i'm selling them! - some of my older models.

As to the stack, here it is:

- B757 Minicraft (VarigLog)
- 747-300 (-400 conversion, Varig)
- MD-11 Hasegawa (not sure about the airline yet, maybe China Airlines)
- 747-400 (Thinking of Northwest)
- 2 727-200 (1/125 Heller kits, one will be a -100 - probably TransBrasil - and the other one, VarigLog)
- 707 Beta - Brazilian Express Tranportes Aéreos

Currently on the workbench:
- DC-7C Revell (corrected, 2 kits in one for correction, likely to be SAS)
- B727-100 (converted Minicraft, Cruzeiro Linhas Aéreas)
- A340-600: already undergoing severe conversion!!! Will show up here soon as a thread for you folks!!!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Forget about all you've learned on thrust, drag, lift, weight... if you want a plane to fly you need MONEY.

Bill-ay,
looks like you have more kits in stock than "hannants" .You want to built them all in the next 200 Years, or do you wait until they get highpriced ebay-monsters ?

about 400 unbuilts atm....
plus about half that in need of refurbishment/repair/repainting

Havent gone and counted but I think I have about 40 maybe 50 or so in good nick and display-friendly...
and 28 newly built or rebuilt/repainted since February 2007...I'm on a roll.
currently in the final stages of 2 British Airways 737-236's - one in the 1984 Landor scheme from my "I flew on it" collection and the other is the silver experimental c/s that preceded it...and a pair of BAC111-400's, one BA in the 1980 red tail fin c/s and one British Caledonian...
pics up when done

when I grow up I want to be like me

Oh boy, as I see now, I´m a poor little light with my 11 kits to built in a sea of builders with hundreds of unbuilt kits each. din´t think, that the scene would be like this. I always thought, that the "builders" would have some kits in stock, and when they are built up, get some new ones. On the other hand, always thought, that the guys, having the hundreds of kits, never built them, but are only collectors and may trade them. So it´s a totally new situation for me

Too funny......I had a little quick count...about 50 Airliner kits, I think....I know I am over 200 kits including military aircraft, armour, ships and sci fi. It will take some time to build them all! I've been trying to thin out may stash for a few years!

Bill-ay...I spotted some Train stuff in one of your pictures! I am a Model Railroader as well.....

Looks like I'm at the bottom here with 5 plus the one I'm working on, that makes 6 and if one of you can sell me an A-330 that will make me 7. Man, I can just hear you guys laughing your heads off...

Bill-ay,

After Ted's comment about the trains, I got to looking at your pictures a bit closer. Seems you have some GI Joe type stuff there as well. Seems you are quite the nerdy dork!
Yeah, I can say that because I did not put a picture of my stuff up there! I do believe that by default, we as airliner builders are all dorks (maybe with a capital D). Because y'know all the cool dorks build military stuff, and wear camo. I am not sure if dorkdom is lower or higher than geekdom (think trekkie)
Hey but it keeps me out of the bars, and at least my wife knows where the money is going! Which reminds me, where did she go? Where's my money?

Keep em separated!

Mmmmmm, look at all those Hasegawa's. Are those the JAS A300's? I've never seen those before!

Ted,
I only like high speed European and Japanese electric trains (Kato). You?

Steve,
I love GI Joes. I was sad when they stopped (at least I think) making the "real life" soldiers as I put it (like actual life Soldiers from around the world). Hope you find your wife, and most importantly, your model money...

Yep, they sure are! I've just upload the box top to the Photo database so it should be available soon.

I see you've got the old TOA A300's, I remember them, but never got them...

I envy you guys who can build... I have 1200+ kits and they're all packed in boxes half a continent away. (About 100-120 are airliners, the rest are military. ships, space, etc.) I made a move from Michigan to Oregon to take up the position as Chief Curator at the Spruce Goose museum and had to leave everything, including family behind. I've been gone from my modeling for a month and it will probably be another month until I can get at my hobby stuff again.

For those who are light on numbers....buy 'em while you can - there will come a time when they wont be available and you'll be kicking yourself because you dont have them....
thats the main reason I guess for having a big (ish) stash of unbuilt kits.
Personally I could do with a LOT more of some kits.

I envy you guys with only 5 or so kits! I have at least twice that half built! I would like to be able to focus on a few projects at once and possibly finish them in a timely manner instead of being distracted by a big pile of kits calling out to be built....sometimes all I end up doing is looking through the boxes and dreaming about building them!

Bill-ay: I do prefer the High Speed Trains but I only have one Kato Green Shinkansen. I have an Amtrak Superliner Passenger Train pulled by GE P42 Locomotives. Lots of odds and ends but most of my Locomotives are Delaware & Hudson and Montana Rail Link which are my favourites. I always wanted to do an Airport Diorama with a train station underneath with a bullet train in it.

gebbw: You have a couple of hard to come by Qantas 747-400 kits! I looked for one for ages, gave up and I'm working on one in 1/144th scale!

Hi Ted, you mean Qantas 747-300?? Yes these are the elusive -300's with RB211's engines. The one and only release from Hasegawa, just like their QF 747-400. I recall back in the 90's that Hasegawa was thinking about releasing 747's in Air NZ colours, as they have the same engines, but it never happened. But Liveries Unlimited did a great decal sheet for the HSG kit anyway (isn't that Jennings?)

I'm afraid I do the same as you... looking through the boxes and dreaming about building them! ahhh one day...

Oh boys and girls,

always thought I am the only mad modelling guy on earth, but no - some of you are even worse...

I have some 250++ kits on my stock. 99% are airliner kits and most of them in scale 144 from Revell, MInicraft, Airfix, Rusair, Welsh etc.
The oldest beeing an originally sealed Revell DC8 from 1958!
There are in addition some 350++ decals sheets and a big carton full of resin parts, engines etc.

And I can tell you: I still need some more kits, for example Kurts CRJs or so. And the one of the other new future release and and and .......

Greetings Daniel/astirrot

Currently on the line:
B747SP Air Namibia or Corsair (not yet decided)
B777-200LR Air India
B777-200 American One World
...and lots more...

Dave-

Actually the wife is very supportive of the hobby. She tell's me, "get down there and build 'em. They're not doing anybody any good in the boxes." The thing she hates is my several thousand reference books...

Vladimir, yes that was the idea, two by two of everything, one to build and one to keep in the box, but I got a bit carried away on some...

Stewart,

My wife is supportive to this hobby, but for a different reason! If I am busy building models at home there is no way I can be out there fooling around, and I will be only an earshot away from working other house chores!

she has you well trained

This is why I am unattached...tho it has it's attractions the thought of having to bring her to heel and educate her would distract me from building.....

I gave up on keping count a few years ago at around 300 kits; glad to see I'm not alone. I should have my wife look at some of these photos.

If I were to list all my unbuilt kits, resin kits, conversion parts, decals, etc etc, I could build a couple of kits in the same time, I am planning to live untill I am least 160, so I can build everything !!
Looking at the pics of " THE STASH" who said 1/200 scale airliners dont sell ?

I have over 400 kits and over 1000 decals which I'm slowly starting to unwind. I realized I will never have the time to build it all.

FYI, I sold a Welsh Swissair MD-11 on eBay last week for $82.

Same here! At this moment I have 560 in stock, with 25 more ordered I think I have enough to last another 200 years

Fast forward to 2010....
550 in stock, 15 more ordered, and I've built about 20 kits in between.

It's a slight progress but gosh I AM hopeless.

Cheers,
