Has anyone had experience ordering from this Mexican vendor? They emailed me an image of what is claimed to be the envelope containing my order sent by registered mail, but the tracking number shown is reported by the US Postal Service to be for an item delivered to another city over a year ago!

No Problems with 8A, sounds like a problem with the Postal Service. I don't think he sent you a wrong tracking number to cheat.

I have had good luck with him. Very slow but I would also chalk that up to the Mexican Postal Service.

I've been buying from Jon since he began his business. He's a good guy.
Occasional issues get resolved quickly. The only thing that isn't quick
is, as Mark M points out above, the Mexican postal service.

Jon has always been totally reliable. I concur with the above comments on the Mexican postal service. My first ever order with him took a month from being posted in Culiacan to reaching the distribution centre in Mexico City. I've also been provided with a tracking number that didn't show up on any tracking system but was delivered with that very tracking number on the envelope!

I've had no issues with Jon either. As mentioned in pervious posts, be sure to request as much tracking as possible to circumvent issues with the post office. Once the envelope is in the 'system' it is out of Jon's control.

Here's the problem, folks. i WAS provided with a tracking number (see photo). But if you enter the tracking number into the USPS system, you will find that it has already been used on an item delivered to Pecos, Texas, over a year ago! As you can plainly see from the address on the envelope, I do NOT live in Pecos, Texas! I have reported this anomaly to Jon, but have had no response. I hope this makes things clear.

      Michael,

Since the tracking number originates in Mexico, maybe it would be wise to track it through
THEIR postal system. USPS has no control over how the Mexican system operates (possible
      duplicate numbers).

Exactly. My sister lives in Germany and I live in the UK. We sometimes sends tracked items to each other. There is no point putting a German tracking number into the (UK) Royal Mail website - if I want to track something she's sent I have to do it through Deutsche Post. Similarly if she wants to track an item I've sent she has to do it on Royal Mail. It's also worth pointing out that depending on the postage paid tracking may only work within the country of origin. Full international tracking is very expensive and only really worthwhile for items of high value or extreme importance.

My experience has been that once an international order with a tracking number arrives in the US it IS visible in the US postal system. But I did try tracking it through the Mexican postal system (using this website: https://www.trackingmore.com/correos-mexico-tracking.html) and got two results, one for the item shipped to another address over a year ago, and one for my order from Jon. The tracking history for my 8ADecs order is one entry:

      2018-05-19
      13:56:00
En tránsito hacia destino, Administración Postal Centro Culiacán Rosales, Sin.

Thanks, Jon, for dealing with this. Sorry to be such a nervous Nellie.

Then obviously your package never got into the USPS system. As I said..Mexican Post.
