Looking to convert a 1/72 scale Monogram SA/16 Albatross model to a Turbo prop update. Any suggestions as to available conversion sets?

I'm not aware that any Albatross has been converted to turbine power in real life, so I can't see why anyone would make a "conversion" for a 60 year old kit for something that doesn't exist.

      N777PV has P&W Turbines. https://www.google.com/search?q=N777PV&tbm=isch&source=iu&pf=m&ictx=1&fir=CZ8OCTjQexhFXM%253A%252CUTE_-blzNyPhmM%252C_&usg=__wzghRky3hJv5QY1LaTY6r3j5Jzc%3D&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjHzrWAx4TXAhWC2yYKHdB2BrQQ9QEIMjAD#imgrc=CZ8OCTjQexhFXM:

No idea about a conversion, However.

That's not an Albatross, that's a Mallard. It's about 50% of the size of an Albatross.

You're right. I got my wires crossed. I meant N16CA pictured above.

Huh... never seen that one. Looks like RR Darts off of a Fokker F-27 to me. I know for certain there is no resin for the Monogram kit for this one-off conversion. Also note that this is an HU-16A, not an Hu-16B as in the Monogram kit. The A has a shorter wing and a much smaller vertical fin than the B.

I think they only made one, possibly two. It's no longer registered so I can only imagine its been scrapped.

Thanks every one !! I can always expect responses to my queries, like this one. I was aware only of the MALLARD turbo before inquiring. Thank you Jennings for your insight. My intent is to do a CHALKS SA16 B with all the obvious incremental improvements/ extensions, and imagined Turbo engines, even though it is a " what if". So everything added to this string has been archived for soon to be useful challenge.

I would say the engines had a more Viscount/Grumman G-1/YS-11ish look to it.
But anyway, I wish you all the best of luck if you decide to do the conversion.

YESSSS!!! YS-11 ! Thanks for jolting my memory. Now to find a BANDAI YS-11 kit , steal the engines, and convert the YS-11 to a Piston engine liner using the ALBATROSS engines I cut off the Monogram kit. YIKES !! what am I getting in to ?

Hi all this RR dart installation looks more like the Avro (HS) 748 installation to me, bring up a side profile and you will see what I mean.

Update on my previous message , on page 94/95 of the Wayne Mutza book published by Schiffer is a picture and info of the DartRDa 6 Mk510 designed for the Viscount was converted By Conroy aircraft Corporation of Santa Barbara California in 1969.
There was another turbo conversion by Grumman in mid 1993 this time they used the Allied Signal/Garrett TPE331-14GR and was used by Chalks registered N120FB and was designated G-111T more were planned, but the book does not say if any further aircraft were done, as the publication date is 1996.
