With the aid of a sharp set of eyes, it would seem AS has at a minimum used an advertising agency with either little imagination or a tremendous grasp of the subliminal for the airline's new branding--specifically in livery colors. After having transited KSEA several times this summer (and doing so again next week) I've noticed that the number and shades of blue, green, and grey used on the new AS livery are exactly the same as those used by the Port of Seattle for its own branding. This is especially evident on Port equipment and structures between the C and D concourses at KSEA, as well as on various signage around the airport and newly-painted Port vehicles.

Does anyone here (Jennings?) know what the matches are for the AS and Port colors? They look identical to my eye, which like I said seems to be either one heck of a coincidence, or a case of a psychologist trying to drive home the point that AS really *is* KSEA's hometown airline.

      Just a random Wednesday thought.

Hmmm, they do look awfully similar, I hadn't considered that....

No clue. I'd be really surprised if there was anything more than a coincidence between the two though. I snagged the colors off of a bunch of well lit photos and averaged them when I did the AS 737-900ER illustration for Dan's book.

Here are various images I grabbed off of official sites related to the Port of Seattle. As you can see, not only do they not match each other (although I'm sure there is an official standard for them), they're not really anything more than generally similar to the Alaska colors. Alaska uses four different blues, one grey, and one green in their new livery.
