      Hi guys,

I am looking for a set of P&W JT4 engines (trade or buy) for my Air Tanzania 707-331 project.
If I'm correct these engines come with the Minicraft 707-300 TWA boxing.

I do have a set of JT3C engines available which are from the Roden B720.

      Thanks in advance.

      Best regards,

      Jordy

The JT3C engines that come with the Roden 720 are way oversized for JT3Cs, but I've thought they could be reworked into nice (if slightly large) JT4s, with appropriate changes on the hot section. Aside from that, I seem to recall the Minicraft kits had some kind of phenomenon where the JT4s in the -300 kit looked more like Conways, and the Conways in the -400 kit looked more like JT4s.

I don't think Kurt Lehmann offers his JT4s separate from his 707-300 kit. His kits are exquisite, but they're certainly not within everybody's price range.

      Thanks for your reply, Christian.

You are absolutely right regarding the AA kits. There's nothing more accurate than these kits.
Although I do have a couple of AA kits (MD-11, 757-200), I am looking for a cheaper alternative for this one.
I wouldn't mind paying 15-18 euros for a set of engines, but unfortunately the JT4's are not sold separately.

I can ask if Kurt also sells them separately.

      Cheers,
      Jordy

      Thanks for your reply, Jodie!

I already thought that something had to be wrong with the minicraft JT4s. I'm not an expert in recognizing these old engines and therefore tend to rely on the expertise of my fellow airlinercafe members. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

If Kurt doesn't offer his engines separate, I might have to try reworking the JT3Cs.

      Cheers,
      Jordy

Since I'd been skeptical about Kurt offering Jordy a set of engines separate from the kit, I feel obliged to recognize Kurt for the offer he made to Jordy, and to thank him for doing so. Kurt, thanks for being such a good friend to the airliner hobby.
