Beautiful! It looks like a model of the quality that we have become used to from Zvezda. Quite a 737 fleet you have on the desk as well.

      Looks fantastic!
What I can see this kit might be
a good base for a diorama...

AMS has announced it for May
      for 18,95 € - a very reasonable price!
      👍 👍 👍

---and what the hell shall I do with my
old Trumpeter kit? Still on hold....

      Excellent !

My vision, using EE airport equipment #6, diorama, fuel tanker, trucks going down the ramp, service ladder on both sides, of the access doors.
Now.. where is the ground fuel connection on the 76 😬

      All the best,

It is very likely that IL-76 with new engines PS-90A will be released by Zvezda in future.

Do you know if the gun turret as well as the civilian style tail cone are included in the kit, or will they be two different releases?

In the shots uploaded before, the kit is seen with the tail gunner turret and the plain tail cone, so I suppose the kit contain the two variants.

Interesting to see the images of the kit decal sheet. Yet again, no Aeroflot, despite Zvezda's original photo showing their old scheme. Strange that their last few airliner kits (777, A321 and 737) haven't included Aeroflot decals either. Has there been a falling out between them? Perhaps we might get a non Aeroflot operated type in future....like the 757 (I can dream!).

The IL-76 makes me happy and the Liveries Unlimited news make me even happier
Jennings please consider Libyan Arab and Iraqi as well.
Maybe including 3D window details to simulate the photo-real cockpit and radome interior?
I still own your old Aeroflot and red polar decals sheet and value it ever since.
      Many many thanks,
That kit is a long awaited dream and it deserves the greatest decals as with the LU IL62

I have no way to do the "photo real" window decals. I'm not getting into laser printing, and doing it otherwise is too expensive (plus I happen to despise them personally). Not sure what you mean about the radome interior. I don't plan on cutting the radome off of my kit, I don't know about you.

I don't have the kit yet, so I need to see what's in the box before going any further.

      Hello All,

Is there any chance of someone producing the Heavylift decal in 1/72? My understanding is that Ray will no longer resize his decals.

I have an Amodel Il-76 model just begging to be built!

      Cheers,

I believe the colouring on the Iraqi '76 in Exile's post is wrong.

Even though the mid-green top with light green stripe was Iraqi's regular scheme, all the photos of active '76s (particularly YI-ANB depicted) that I can find have it as black top with mid-green stripe instead.

I did find pics of a de-activated engineless example with the green scheme, but that could have been due to fading in the sun, but I'm not sure!

      Scott.

Clearly you don't fly RC (or real) airplanes or have a model railroad habit. $50 for a kit like that is dirt cheap.

      Correct! I don't fly RC's 👍
      I don't fly neither airplanes
nor space ships, don't navigate ships and no submarines,
don't ride neither japanese bullet trains nor horses.
I ride a bike and drive my car.
      And I don't own a model railway.

I total disagree and take the risk
      you're pissed-off.

AMS announced the kit for 18,95 € (incl. VAT).
To compare: ZVEZDA's other ultimate kits
      (IL-62, A320, A321) are in a range between
      19,95 € for A320 / A321 and 24,95 € IL-62 €.
That's a damned good reasonable price.

You can convert it by yourself into $.

Average price in Russia is 28 USD. Try buying directly from Russia. For example, I bought my MD-11s for $ 35 each.

I don't agree because prices are cheap in Russia but their shipping charges are up the roof. BTW how much did you pay for shipping your MD-11. I got mine for from omni models for $50 including shipping. I recently received my Zvezda B-738 from Lithuania which I purchased it from Ebay for $30 including shipping and I received in two week.

      ---
I went with a fellow modeler's highly recommended advice, and tried to purchase the kit from a Russian retailer. Their website had to be translated, and after several back and forth emails. They said the kit would be US$19,45, and shipping (Russia Mail) for the ONE kit would be US$43.00. I then discovered that the fellow modeler had purchased a full case of the kits, thus the shipping cost were spread across the 12 kits. Making the total purchase rather cheap.
I ordered my kit via Ebay from Model Hobbies Limited in the UK for US$27.59, with free shipping. this UK retailer has great reviews and a huge on-line catalog.

Actually, the Post of Russia has been raising its prices all the time in recent years. In fact, I missed this moment when I wrote my previous post.
About my specific case, at that time I bought two MD-11s and 4 other kits. In total 6 kits, that weighed about 2.5 kilograms (5.5 pounds) for which I paid US$26.50
My two Zvezda 738 US$15 each, plus 4 other kits, reached me for US$25 (other weight and exchange rate differences). It is worth mentioning that in both cases the deliverer was not the Post of Russia.

P.S. Usually I buy several kits to save on delivery and to my luck, I can choose between several postal companies operating between Russia and Tajikistan.

Bottom line is, you only pay the initial/MSRP price if you want to.

I just had an email from a vendor, Hobby Land (Bulgaria) www.hobbyladbg.com I have purchased kits from in the past, with great service. They have the IL-76 kit in stock for Euro22.00, with shipping Euro35.20 (US$39.50).
