Latest Squadron flyer has Roden's VC-10,Britannia,and C-141 listed.Squadron had discontinued Roden for about two years.

I have never known for Squadron to not carry Rosen products. They haven't always had the full product line though.

The question is, do they actually *have* anything they're advertising. Their recent record isn't good at all. And then there's the gold plated shipping.

I have never had any problems at all with Squadron.
The prices are very good , their service is outstanding and shipping is fair.
The only thing I don't like is that they are in Texas and I have to pay lots of taxes.
They always have a great Christmas sale!

You must be a special customer then. The last two times I've tried to take advantage of their sales, nothing they had on sale is in stock. LOTS of other people have complained about this for a long time. I've quit even looking at their site. A friend of mine tried to order like $75 worth of stuff and shipping was going to be over $25 (in the US). Ridiculous.

I have found that it depends on the product line - for example, it took them months (if not a full year) to actually have Zvezda airliners in stock. Another example is the Revell A350. At least you can see if it's in stock when you are online and order. I refuse to order from Roll Models again as they will advertise any and all products in inventory and charge you even if it is not in stock. Nothing like receiving a partial order with an invoice stating an item is back ordered and then you have to either wait or request a refund.

Since Squadron bases their shipping off of dollars spent and not weight, I do agree that shipping can be a tad expensive depending on the purchase.

Overall, I have been happy with Squadron and their customer service. And after ordering many Roden kits from them, I can attest to my original reply that I have never heard of them NOT having Roden kits - just maybe not all of them.

I actually emailed them about this this morning, as Roden is listed in their flyer yet not on their website. They emailed me back almost immediately saying that they had hoped to have Roden stuff in the w=warehouse by now but that there would be a small delay. I will have that Britannia! Anyway, that was a fast response from Squadron which I really appreciated.

Squadron was at one time the Roden distributor. I know this because when i went to work for Squadron in 2005, one of my first assignments in training (before assuming the position of Squadron/Signal Publications editor) was to unpack and box Roden kits. They arrived in bulk cartons in order to save space: a carton of bagged sprues, a box of decal sheets, a box of instruction sheets, and a box of flattened kit boxes. My job was to help unflatten the kit boxes and fill them with bagged sprues, instructions, and decals, and then shrink-wrap them.

Squadron later lost a lot of distributorships during a period of over-expansion when it couldn't pay its vendors in a timely manner. I believe Roden was one of these, but by then I was gone.

I discontinued looking at their e-flyers only because shipping across the 49th parallel was gross. A DC-3 doubled in price with shipping and add to that the weak Canadian $.
