      ...that 757s (and maybe other aircraft) have their shark fins and beacons slightly offset to the side?


      Meanwhile, A320s don't:

      The main reason is to facilitate visual check from the ground, made by crew and maintenance personnel.

      I always thought there was a center spar/stringer running down the exact center of the fuselage so the light installation has to be on one side of exact center.
