      Hey Folks!
When I was in elementary school, I had a classmate whose father worked for BOAC. One day he gave a presentation to our class about BOAC's "new jet." It was called "the 747" and everyone got a groovy brochure to keep as a souvenir!

I've scanned the brochure in its entirety for you all to check out! I hope you find it entertaining ..and maybe even useful!

      Please see link inserted below.

      Enjoy!

      Chris

Thanks for posting. Takes me back. I had an Uncle who worked for AirFrance and I had a similar fold out brochure entitled short checklist of a giant jet. People forget just what game changers 747s were when introduced. BOAC was a great livery too ,best on a VC10 though

Thank you for posting and making us realize the luxury in coach with nine across seating in a 747.

Also remembering the piano bar in coach on American's 747 and DC-10, which had had eight across seating in coach. Also tossing out there, the generous seat pitch back then.

Oh my, take me back to the good old days of flying.

Ahhh ! Nostalgia. Thanks for that Chris ,haven't seen it before .Still one of the most elegant colour schemes .
Started my flying career on the 'old BOAC 747-100 classic' as cabin crew (flight attendant)in the mid seventies.Flying was still an adventure ,and not an ordeal to be endured as it is now.
Fortunately! I am now locked in the FCC ... Flight Crew Compartment (cockpit)behind a bullet proof door in a plastic aeroplane!!!!
I remember, generally after tea, coffee and liquors had been served we would turn the big screens over to reveal the white side so the movie could commence ,the projector descending from the ceiling,no on demand then. The headsets to listen to the movie were quite literally a hollow plastic tube with an incredibly uncomfortable earpiece.

I have a 1/00 scale Nitto B747 to do in BOAC colours ,of course ....another project for when I retire ,can't wait .
      Cheers
      Mark
