Well, believe it or not I was modeling, for reals!!
I was painting the wings of my Delta Airlines A350 and I decided to use newspaper to cover the fuselage.
Well, what do you know, since I over sprayed the airbus grey, I decided to wet sand the wings before second coating. When I was happy with the results I took the newspaper off the model. The words on the paper just happen to be facing the right way so they streak and left a very cool weathering pattern on my model. Too bad that the Delta A350 its brand new so I cleaned it off, but finally I found the way to do weathering on airliners like the old IBERIA A340's

The number of times I've washed newsprint residue off my hands... They say all art is subject to happy accidents, and this proves it for the umpteenth time!

Why, steady on, old chap!!! You'll have us all at it if you carry on like that

I must admit, with a heavy heart, that I last laid grubby mitts on a model more years ago than is decent to mention in a forum like this... (Err... I ought to clarify that I refer to the plastic scale variety of model, not the flesh-and-blood paparazzi-fodder variety. Not that I've laid any mitts, grubby or not, on the latter variety, either... Sigh...)

I use household aluminum foil for large area masking.
