Eastern Air Lines, 1926 - 18 January 1991. Gone but not forgotten. The first time I ever left the surface of the planet it was aboard an Eastern 727, an experience I will never forget. RIP one of the best airlines that ever was or ever will be.

Date of J's post is 18 January -- the 27th anniversary of the death of (the real) Eastern Airlines. Was questioning what the point of the topic might be until I made the "on this day in history" connection.
